Welcome to Thursday Evening Sewing! I know lots of you can’t make the weekday sewing sessions, so these are for you!
The format is similar to Social Sewing, so anything goes (apart from curtains and blinds)! Spaces are limited to a maximum of 4 people, and only 3 if anyone is dressmaking as preparation takes up more space.
If you’re short on inspiration, or feeling a little rusty, there are plenty of Needleswift workshop patterns which you can get stuck into. You could sew a simple zipped purse in one session, or a tote bag in two. Other projects you could choose are: apron, fabric box caddy, drawstring bag, cushion or foldover clutch bag to name a few. You might like to try out free-motion applique or bring a quilting pattern to get started on.
And of course, there’s the ever popular dress-making! Bring a pattern and I’ll teach you to measure yourself and choose which size to make. If you’re new to dress-making why not choose a simple skirt or tunic style, or perhaps some pj trousers or shorts. If you need help sourcing a pattern or fabrics don’t hesitate to email for advice.
Sewing machines are available for you to use, but you are equally welcome to bring your own to learn on. When you have made your booking please let me know what you would like to sew, and whether you require a sewing machine.
If you’re a complete beginner you’re welcome to attend one of these – just drop me a line first so I can make sure I cap the class size at 3.
