Friday 2nd November: 10-2.30 FULLY BOOKED
Can’t knit?! Me neither. But you can still create your own ‘knitwear’. At this workshop we’re going to sew a cosy cardigan, using either the Oslo Cardigan by Seamwork, or the Blackwood Cardigan by Helen’s Closet. Either pattern is included within the class fee, but you’re welcome to source and bring your own pattern if you prefer.
You will need to bring around 2.5m of fabric, but please check when booking as the exact amount depends on which cardigan you make and which size.
Fabric should be a reasonably heavyweight knit, like Ponte Roma, Sweatshirting, or French terry. Feel free to ask for advice on where to source your fabric.
You can sew this project on a regular sewing machine, but you are equally welcome to bring an overlocker – just note that you may whizz ahead and finish early!
To join this workshop you will need to have some basic sewing skills and be confident using a sewing machine, but it’s fine if you’ve never done dressmaking before, or sewn with stretch fabrics. You may like to attend the Ponte Roma Infinity Scarf workshop before you tackle this class, to give you a head-start on sewing with stretch fabrics.
Search social media for #oslocardigan or #blackwood cardigan for inspiration!
