Friday 1st December: 10-1.30
The simple foldover clutch bag is such a treat to sew. You can customise this so many ways with chic and elegant, or fun and funky fabric combinations. In my sample I have paired a traditional british grey wool, with a perforated mustard faux leather. If you wish, you can add small ‘D’ ring side tabs for attaching a chain or strap. Chains are not supplied, but I can teach you to make a simple strap – ‘D’ rings and trigger clasps will be provided if you need them.
I will also provide a 28cm YKK metal zip – these are available in a variety of colours; please check to see what is available, or supply your own if you have specific requirements. You may also like to add an internal zipped pocket.
Interfacing and Thermolam interling (to give a lightly padded structure) are included within the class fee. You will need to bring a 25cm length of each outer fabric, or a 40cm length of one outer fabric if you don’t like the contrast blocking. You will also need to bring a 40cm length of lining fabric.
This foldover clutch is a lovely size to take out for an evening, but unfolded it is also the perfect size to safely stowe a tablet – the felt interlining gives great protection.
