Saturday 14th April, 10-2.30 – FULLY BOOKED
If you missed out but would like your child to attend a workshop, please email your interest to me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Following the success of Needleswift’s first children’s sewing workshop, we’ve booked in a new date!
This workshop is aimed at children from the age of around 10 years old. If your child is a little younger and has some sewing experience then this would probably be fine. There are just 4 spaces, so the children will each have use of their own sewing machine, and plenty of one-to-one assistance.
A home-baked treat will be provided, but please send your child with a water bottle and a packed lunch.
At this workshop, there is a choice of three great projects: an elastic-waist skirt, an apron, or an ‘infinity’ scarf with (optional) pompom trim.
Threads, trims, elastic and apron ties will be provided, but your child will need to bring fabric. Please pre-wash, dry, and iron the fabric.
Skirt: 75cms of cotton, lightweight denim, fine corduroy or similar
Apron: 75cms of heavy cotton, canvas, denim or similar. Optional: a smaller piece of contrasting fabric to make the pocket, around 25cms.
Infinity scarf: 50cms of fabric if the width is 150cms, or 1 metre if the with is narrower. Choose a lighter weight cotton such as lawn, so that the scarf isn’t too stiff or heavy. Pompom trim is available in light blue, rose pink, apple green or white.
We always make good use of our time, so if projects are finished early we will practise sewing skills, learn to thread the machines, or make a little something like a hairband or purse.
