Social Sewing: £25

Morning session, 10-1, Thursdays and Fridays

Come and join a Social Sewing class – Beginners and experienced sewers are all welcome.

For everyone’s comfort in a covid world, there will be a maximum of 3 students at each session.

With the Social Sewing sessions I aim for as much flexibility as possible. For £25 you can come along for a 3 hour sewing session. Bring any project you like, apart from very large projects like curtains and blinds. If you don’t have a project in mind you’re welcome to ask for advice: I have some simple patterns ready to go, such as a tote bag, zipped pouches, apron or fabric box caddy. Give me as much notice as you can as some patterns will need printing (a charge of around £3 – £5 accompanies this). Another simple beginner project is bunting: this is a great way to use up fabric scraps.

Complete beginners are welcome to come to Social Sewing to learn the basics. When you book it’s a great idea to email me to let me know a bit about your skill level, and what you’d like to sew.

Current favourites with students are dressmaking, quilting, home accessories and furnishings. Gather inspiration from other people’s work and make some new sewing friends. You can even buy selected supplies from me, including interfacing, thermolam, bag straps and some bag hardware – check in advance if there is something special you need.

You may bring your own sewing machine, or use one of the machines here. Please mention when booking if you would like to borrow a sewing machine.

Note: Classes will go ahead as long as there are at least two students. If I need to cancel because of low attendance on a particular date, you will be refunded, or have the option to switch dates if other sessions have availability.

The payment system I use is basic Paypal, so you’ll receive email confirmation from Paypal. If you have any problems just email me. If you’d rather pay by bank transfer please contact me for details. Sometimes this is easier if you’re paying for multiple dates.

Cancellation Policy: please read before booking

If you need to cancel a booking, please give me as much notice as possible. With 14 days notice I will happily offer a refund or a reschedule. With less than 14 days, I will refund or reschedule only if I can fill the space. This policy is in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations, where an individual course with limited capacity taking place on a specific date is classed as a leisure activity, where you are not entitled to a refund for late cancellation.
