The fact that you have clicked on this menu page probably means that you’ve never sewn before in your life… or maybe in good old ‘home ec’ when you were at school?!
You’ve come to the right place, and I can help you get started on a sewing machine, whether you dream of being able to create your own wardrobe, sew the perfect cushions for your sofa, or make your kids happy with a dressing up costume.
There are a couple of ways to get started with Needleswift. The most obvious would be to sign yourself up for one of my ‘Introduction to using a sewing machine‘ classes. If there’s one listed at a time that suits you, then go for it!
However, Needleswift is a small sewing school, which I run from my home on just 2 or 3 days a week. I love sewing so much that I offer a range of different classes and struggle to fit everything in! So, if there isn’t a specific beginner’s class listed, just book into Social Sewing instead! There are only every 3 or 4 students in any of my classes, so it’s very easy to teach all different levels together, and you’ll probably find some great inspiration from other sewers.
Once you’ve spent a couple of hours covering the basics, you’re ready to get stuck into some real sewing projects.
Option one is more Social Sewing. You’ll need to come prepared with a project, but I can always offer direction there and help you choose something suitable.
Option two is to attend one of my new Flexible Workshop Days. There are lots of projects on offer, many of them suitable for beginners. Again, if you have any questions just ask!
You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope to see you at Needleswift soon!
